SEO pricing and packages

Terrier’s SEO plans start from £1,250 a month excluding VAT, with no minimum term — 60 days’ notice, at any point. Generative engine optimisation is included in every plan at no extra cost. Across the UK market, agency SEO retainers run from about £750 to £9,000 a month depending on how competitive your terms are and how much content and link work the plan funds.

Every SEO plan includes

  • A named strategist who does the work, not an account manager who relays it.
  • GEO included, never a separate line.
  • A live dashboard from day one.
  • Content, links and technical fixes done by us.
  • No lock-in: 60 days’ notice, at any point.
  • Everything reviewed by Patrick.

Enterprise

More than three markets, an enterprise CMS, or a migration in flight? Enterprise is scoped to the brief and quoted per programme — custom pricing, not a band. Read about our enterprise SEO and GEO service, or get a written proposal.

What changes the price

Eight things move a plan up or down the ladder:

  • How competitive your head terms are. The same work costs more in insurance than in industrial fasteners because the pages you have to beat are better funded.
  • Where you start. A site with existing authority needs fewer links to move than one launched last year.
  • Markets and languages. Each additional market is a separate keyword set, a separate content plan and a separate link profile.
  • Platform and developer access. A site we can change ourselves is cheaper to run than one where every fix waits in a sprint queue.
  • Who writes the content. If your team writes and we brief and edit, the plan costs less.
  • Site size. Twenty pages and twenty thousand are different technical problems.
  • How fast you need month-six results. Compressing a plan means more content and more links per month, which is the cost.
  • Regulated sectors. Legal, medical and financial content needs review cycles that take time.

London agencies typically price the same scope higher. We are not in London and do not charge as if we were.

What £500 a month buys you

It is worth being blunt, because a lot of people arrive here after a £500-a-month quote. At that price the maths only works if the agency spends about two hours on you a month. Two hours does not buy a technical fix, a piece of research-led content and an earned link — it buys a report. What you usually get is an automated audit forwarded by email, a keyword list you already had, and content written to a word count rather than to a search intent.

If £500 is the budget, the honest answer is that a retainer is the wrong shape. Buy a one-off audit and act on it yourself, or wait until the budget can fund work rather than reporting. We would rather tell you that here than on a call.

Is an SEO agency worth it?

The test is whether the plan pays for itself. Take the Starter band: over two quarters that is a defined spend, and it is worth it only if the organic revenue it adds exceeds it. For a business with an average order value in the hundreds, that is a small number of additional orders a month. For a lead-generation business, it is a small number of additional qualified enquiries.

Our published case studies show the shape of that: Koyo Loans in consumer finance, Mazars in professional services and Gtechniq in ecommerce each carry their own measured results on the page. Read the numbers there rather than here — a number that is not visible on the live study does not belong on a price list.

SEO pricing questions

How much does an SEO agency cost in the UK?

Retainers run from about £750 to £9,000 a month. Ours start from £1,250 a month.

Is there a minimum term?

No. 60 days’ notice, at any point. Six months is still the shortest window in which content, technical work and links can be judged fairly — anything shorter measures the setup, not the work.

Is GEO extra?

No. Generative engine optimisation is in every SEO plan at no extra cost. The GEO price list is for brands whose SEO is handled elsewhere.

How do I leave?

Give us 60 days’ notice, at any point. You can move up or down a band at any month end.

Do you charge a set-up fee?

No. The first month includes the audit and the plan.

Can I pause a plan?

Yes — but SEO compounds, and a paused plan gives back ground rather than holding it.
