About the campaign

Wheels Media

Wheels Media is an automotive media brand that partnered with Terrier Agency to amplify Street Machine’s Drag Challenge — a five-day celebration of drag racing and street cars — across social media. The goal was to reach both drag car owners and avid spectators through real-time, firsthand event coverage.

We identified and invited influencers whose audiences share a keen interest in drag cars, confirming 29 creators to attend the event. Across the five days they published 232 stories and 17 posts, generating 362,238 impressions and reaching a combined following of over 2.9 million automotive enthusiasts.

The campaign proved that within highly niche communities, a carefully selected group of creators delivers scale alongside credibility — a level of authentic, community-driven storytelling paid advertising cannot replicate.

Covering a Five-Day Drag Racing Event in Real Time

Event-based motoring campaigns follow the shortlist-first process Terrier runs for any creator campaign: creators are checked for genuine audience overlap with the event’s community before an invite goes out, usage and attendance are agreed ahead of the event, and briefs cover what needs capturing on each of the five days rather than a single moment. Because Drag Challenge runs over five consecutive days, creators were briefed to post as the event unfolded — stories from the strip itself, posts once a session wrapped — rather than a single retrospective recap.

What 2.9 Million in Combined Following Represents for Wheels Media

232 stories, 17 posts and 362,238 impressions across 29 attending creators is a coverage and reach figure, not a readership or sales number — it shows how much of the drag racing community saw firsthand event content rather than a press release. For a niche automotive audience that already follows the sport closely, real-time coverage from people actually at the event is a form of access a media brand cannot buy through paid placement alone.
